About T-Minus 365
T-Minus 365 is where IT pros and MSPs learn to secure and run Microsoft 365. Four-time Microsoft MVP Nick Ross has written it since 2018. Readers use it to lock down tenants, roll out Copilot and AI with guardrails, and keep up with a platform that changes every week.
How it started
In 2018 Nick was at Pax8, working with partners as they moved their customers onto Microsoft's cloud. The same questions came up again and again. How do you get mail off GoDaddy? Off an aging Exchange server? From one tenant to another? He started writing down the answers. The first post, a guide to migrating from Exchange to Office 365, went up in May 2018. Within a week, five more migration guides followed.
How it grew
The topics followed the platform. Migration guides gave way to security baselines, Conditional Access, Intune, and the compliance frameworks auditors and insurers ask about, like CIS Controls, NIST CSF 2.0, and CISA's SCuBA baselines. When Copilot arrived, T-Minus covered how to roll it out with governance and data protection in place from day one.
In 2019 Nick started publishing the PowerShell behind the posts on GitHub (opens in new tab) under the name msp4msps. It includes tenant documentation for PSA tools, Intune enrollment, security reporting, and automation for the SCuBA assessments. Admins still fork those scripts and build their own tooling on top.
Video came next. The T-Minus 365 YouTube channel turned written walkthroughs into screen-level demos, and it now has more than 400 videos. The monthly What's New in Microsoft 365 episode sorts roughly a hundred Microsoft announcements into the handful that matter to IT teams. It's the channel's most-watched series.
Through all of it, Nick did the work he wrote about. He led product management for PSA and Microsoft integrations at Pax8, then served as VP of Product and as CTO at two MSPs, most recently Sourcepass. Every guide on this site was tested against real tenants with real users. Microsoft has named him an MVP four times for this educational work.
Who reads it
- 8+ years of publishing
- 255+ in-depth guides
- 400+ videos
- 35,000+ YouTube subscribers
- Nearly 200,000 video views every quarter
The best measure of trust is how people use the site. Readers share T-Minus guides in Microsoft Teams chats and Reddit threads, and other sites embed the videos, which bring in about 30,000 views a quarter on their own. When a Microsoft change breaks something or a new threat lands, this is one of the places IT teams check first.
Where CloudCapsule fits
After years of writing security checklists, Nick co-founded CloudCapsule (opens in new tab) with a team from Pax8, Microsoft, and the MSP world to run those checklists automatically. CloudCapsule is the complete Microsoft 365 security workflow: scan a tenant, fix what's wrong, catch drift, and prove the tenant is secure. It turns the T-Minus approach into a product.
